Privacy Policy — VHRP Connect

VHRP Connect ("the app") is the official membership app of Vishva Hindu Raksha Parishad (VHRP). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address and profile picture when you sign in with Google, or your phone number when you sign in by phone.
Membership registration: full name, father's name, date of birth, blood group, phone number, address, city, state, assembly constituency, designation, optional social-media link, your portrait photo, your Aadhaar number and photos of your Aadhaar card (front and back). These are required to issue your digital membership ID card.
Payments: membership fees are processed by Razorpay. We store the order ID, payment ID, amount and status. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details — those go directly to Razorpay (see Razorpay's privacy policy).
Grievances: the subject, description, category, location and any photos you attach when you file a complaint.
Event responses: your RSVP status for organisation events.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your membership and issue your digital ID card with QR verification.
To verify your identity: your portrait and Aadhaar images are checked by an automated AI service to confirm the photo is a genuine portrait and the Aadhaar card is authentic. Images are sent to the AI service only for this check and are not used to train AI models.
To process membership payments and email you a payment receipt.
To handle grievances you file and keep you updated on their status.
To let other members find you in the member directory — the directory shows only your name, designation, city, state, country and social link. Your Aadhaar, phone, email, date of birth and address are never shown.
Public QR verification of an ID card shows only membership validity — never your Aadhaar, phone, date of birth or address.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the app: Razorpay (payment processing), our email provider (payment receipts), and our AI verification provider (identity-document checks). Authorised VHRP administrators can view member records to manage the organisation; their access is role-restricted and audit-logged.

4. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Identity documents are stored in private object storage and can only be accessed with short-lived, permission-checked tokens. Administrative access requires authenticated, role-based logins with brute-force protection and audit trails.

5. Retention

Your data is kept while your membership is active. Payment records are retained as required for legal and accounting purposes even after account deletion.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and personal data at any time:

In the app: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, membership record, ID card, Aadhaar details, photos and complaints.
On the web: submit a request at our account deletion page.

7. Children

The app is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
